About this author

D.B. Jackson, author of historical fantasy

D.B. Jackson has been writing fantasy and science fiction under a different pen name for over fifteen years. He has published novels, short stories, and media tie-ins in more than a dozen languages. He also has a Ph.D. in American History, and now, for the first time in his career, he is combining his love of fantasy with his passion for history. His first historical fantasy, Thieftaker, will be published by Tor Books in 2012. His short story, "The Tavern Fire," appears in After Hours: Tales from the Ur-Bar, edited by Joshua Palmatier and Patricia Bray, and published by DAW in March 2011.

The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan
Before reading Carrie Ryan's THE FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH, I had never read a zombie book of any kind. I can't say that I was particularly drawn to them. I picture zombies as shambling, putrefying creatures that are vaguely comical rather than scary...more

by A.J. Hartley (Goodreads Author)
Four and a half stars. It's an odd idea, really. A novelization of Shakespeare's Scottish Play. And I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical. But I found the book utterly mesmerizing. There is enough of the traditional work here (including many lin...more

“Any noble cause will encounter its share of setbacks. The strength of that cause is measured in how the men who fight for it respond. We refuse to give up, which is why we will prevail eventually.”
