About this author

Maureen Lang

Maureen Lang has always had a passion for writing. She wrote her first novel longhand around the age of 10, put the pages into a notebook she had covered with soft deerskin (nothing but the best!), then passed it around the neighborhood to rave reviews. It was so much fun she's been writing ever since.

2010 will mark the release of her tenth novel. Most of her books are historical, with an emphasis on faith and romance.

Maureen lives in the Midwest with her husband, her two sons, and their much-loved dog, Susie. Visit her Web site at www.maureenlang.com.

Whisper on the Wind (Romance)
1 chapters   —   updated Jun 09, 2010 12:56pm
Description: The setting is Belgium, 1916, at the height of the German occupation of World War One. It's a story inspired by the true events of a clandestine newspaper called La Libre Belgique, whose goal at the time was to offer hope to oppressed Belgians—and to defy their heavy-handed occupiers. It's both a romance and an intrigue, where the character's risk their lives to do what they believe is right.

I've always liked Dennis Prager because, of all the conservative talk show hosts out there, I believe him to be one of the more level-headed and less offensive ones out there. I'm an admitted conservative which I do not apologize for, yet it saddens...more

I almost gave up on this one, much to my own disappointment. Ken Follet has produced some of my favorite books in the past, but unfortunately this one isn't one of them - it's just too long. For the first 200 pages, the writing is repetitive and so p...more

I really, really liked this book - it was a fast read for me because I didn't want to put it down. The premise of amnesia might not be the most original in the world, but when it's used in such an entertaining way, who cares? I loved the characters a...more
