Mel is an award-winning playwright and screenwriter presently based in Provo, UT. She holds an MFA from the Iowa Playwrights Workshop and a BA in English from BYU. Produced plays include LITTLE HAPPY SECRETS; an adaptation of Jane Austen's PERSUASION; MARTYRS' CROSSING; LADY IN WAITING; STANDING STILL STANDING; A FLICKERING; HOPE FALLS; and THE CHURCH OF ST. PINKY AT KATY, TEXAS. Her commissioned adaptation of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE enjoyed a sold-out run on the BYU main stage. Her newest play, PILOT PROGRAM, will premiere at Plan-B Theatre Company in April 2015. She wrote the screenplay for the film FREETOWN, slated for theatrical release in April 2015. Some nice ideas, but this kind of book simply isn't my cup of tea. I know folks who will really dig it, and it has a positive message. Just not the kind of thing I want to read. My two cents.
