About this author

My novel is a dramatic epic fantasy (cover below), with a novella-length intro now available as an ebook. I blog about the writing life at:

http://sciencefictionfantasybooks.net

You can find the novella at Amazon and Smashwords. Below, you'll find a YouTube video with my reading of the first chapter of my novel. The first chapter is also on my GoodReads profile.

When I was ten, I fell in love with an anime series: a space opera spanning three human generations, one that unfolded over 85 consecutive episodes and four months of after-school TV. Watching Robotech was a spiritual experience for me. I still remember how high I felt after watching the final episode for the first time. How many pleasures in life are better than a well-executed drama...more

Last night, I saw that Michael J. Sullivan’s Theft of Swords is today’s Kindle Daily Deal, on sale for $1.99. I wrote up a personal story about it over at reddit/r/fantasy:

I rarely read physical books anymore, but one year ago our Barnes and Noble in Prescott, AZ closed down for good. Michael’s novel had just come out, and I really wanted to own a physical copy, for more than one reason. Not t...

Seak (Bryce L.) Hi Moses. I finally put up a post about your Michael Sullivan interview. Sorry for the delay, I saw it and thought I'd get back to it, but completely spaced it instead. :) You guys do a great job btw.

Alicia Thanks for the friend request! I'm happy to meet you (virtually anyway).

Thanks very much, Vinaya! I hope to have it available next month. I'm really looking forward to hearing how some Indians respond to it. One of the nations is a combination of ancient Greek, Roman, and Middle Eastern cultures; they all have Italian names, though. They have a pantheon of ten gods, a la ancient Greece.

The other is sort of like a Buddhist India; their powers come from a non-theistic approach to meditation. They've got names like Narayani, Rao, Devak, and Indrajit :-)

Vinaya Thank you for the friend request, Moses! You've definitely piqued my interest about your novel! I'll look forward to reading it! :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I hope to have a full version of my novel ready for beta readers some time before the end of January. I have a novella-length intro available now (carved out of material from the novel), but if you're interested in reading the larger version you could also just wait for that.

Bradley Thank you for adding me as a friend. I too love Robotech. I have rewatched the three sagas all together many times. I even played the roleplaying game. If you are in need of someone to review your work, I would be honoured to look over your story and spread the news. Okay, I am geeked to add someone who appreciates a good show. Please feel free to sling me a message. Maybe we can enough trade writing tips. =)
