About this author

I've been an avid fantasy reader for most of my life. C.S. Lewis, Lloyd Alexander, Michael Moorcock, Robert E. Howard, J.R.R. Tolkien, Terry Brooks, Weis & Hickman... those are some of the names I grew up on. Since then, I've added Dave Duncan, Robin Hobb, Glen Cook, Lois McMaster Bujold, and even some outside the fantasy genre: Bernard Cornwell, Patrick O'Brian, C.S. Forester.

As a writer, I've blended fantasy, pseudoscience (which is a nice way of saying I make up my own science), alchemy, and steampunk-like mechanics into The Five Elements, which is the first novel in my ongoing Alchemancer series. Some readers here on Goodreads and Amazon have said some nice things about the novel, of which I am very appreciative.

Description: "Fine Wine" is a short piece I wrote in about an hour, with several edits following that initial brain dump. It started with a single sentence that just popped into my head: "Abelard ate a lot. That was why, after I'd slashed my knife across his belly..."
