Don't be embarrassed, I love hearing from readers! Really! And thank you so much for your kind words, it is always great to get positive feedback and it is awesome that you connected with Violet's character and found yourself on an emotional ride - that's what I was going for!!
Now, as for other books I'd recommend... If you're into dystopian, I just read Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi and I really liked it. And I'd also suggest Divergent by Veronica Roth.
I think there are a few good books out about magic with strong heroines, but I particularly like an adult series, The Allie Beckstrom novels, by Devon Monk, and I love The Magic Study series by Maria V Snyder (They are YA and well worth a read).
If you haven't read the Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead, I think they're great. And while we are on the subject of vampires, Chole Neill's series, the Chicagoland Vampire Novels, are awesome (adult series).
If you are looking for books that come under the angel theme, I have to admit, I haven't read a lot of them as I try to steer clear. However, I have read Unearthly by Cynthia Hand and I thought that was great - not heaps of action, but great characters and fab storytelling. I haven't read the second one yet, but I intend to.
That should keep you going. Let me know what you think if you get around to reading any of them. :)

Feel a bit like an embarrassed fangirl, however I just wanted to say I really love your books! People don't give positive feedback enough :) I recently thought I'd re-skim the Violet Eden Chapters (and ended up completely re-reading them) and fell in love with the amazing stories and characters all over again. I fall head over heels into Violet's emotional roller coaster (and woah what an emotional ride that is!) with each and every word, and it's a feat very few authors can pull off. Which leads me to ask, are there any books you can suggest that I might like, that are similar to yours in that regard? I'm determined to read less quantity and more quality this year! :)

Glad I jumped on board this series from the get-go in Oz and so happy to see how it's taken off OS, and so it should. Cannot wait (literally, it's eating me away inside) for the next adventure. Keep up the fantastic work!!

Hey, Monica, it IS out in NZ cos I found it in a little library MONTHS ago and I live in NZ. I've never seen it in any of the bookstores though. Which is annoying as I want my own copy.

"He smelled of Lilies only, And she knew- Lilies held all the power" Is that meant to be a figure of speech because he is The Sole or is it something more?

Obviously I picked up on the other clue, that because James smelt of vanilla, thats why when Violet uses her power she smells like vanilla to Linc. Inherited.

So, it had me thinking about inheritence, clearly she has The Sole's essence and he smelt like Lilies and she likes Lilies - Could there be another reason there for Violet because "They hold all the power"?
