I like books. Reading them, writing, and admiring them as my bookshelves begin to bow.

Please do not send private message to ask for a review copy of my book. Because I receive so many requests, I have a blanket "no" policy.

I'm also not very good about checking my GR messages, so interview requests and other things tend to get neglected. If you really want me to respond, the best way is through email. All my contact information is on my website.

Why are my ratings either five stars or none? I give five stars to books I'm enthusiastic about and think everyone should read. A lack of stars doesn't mean I didn't like the book, merely that my f

More books by Jodi Meadows…

I wasin NYC at the end of February and by the time I got home, a couple of days into March, I kept thinking I should post my roundup . . . and then it didn’t happen, because Cell Story edits came in and I was far more interested in working on my book than doing blog stuff. Heh. So, I’m catching up for two months!

What I’ve been working on: Cell Story! As I mentioned, I got my edit letter, so I’v...

“I love you,' Buttercup said. 'I know this must come as something of a surprise to you, since all I've ever done is scorn you and degrade you and taunt you, but I have loved you for several hours now, and every second, more. I thought an hour ago that I loved you more than any woman has ever loved a man, but a half hour after that I knew that what I felt before was nothing compared to what I felt then. But ten minutes after that, I understood that my previous love was a puddle compared to the high seas before a storm. Your eyes are like that, did you know? Well they are. How many minutes ago was I? Twenty? Had I brought my feelings up to then? It doesn't matter.' Buttercup still could not look at him. The sun was rising behind her now; she could feel the heat on her back, and it gave her courage. 'I love you so much more now than twenty minutes ago that there cannot be comparison. I love you so much more now then when you opened your hovel door, there cannot be comparison. There is no room in my body for anything but you. My arms love you, my ears adore you, my knees shake with blind affection. My mind begs you to ask it something so it can obey. Do you want me to follow you for the rest of your days? I will do that. Do you want me to crawl? I will crawl. I will be quiet for you or sing for you, or if you are hungry, let me bring you food, or if you have thirst and nothing will quench it but Arabian wine, I will go to Araby, even though it is across the world, and bring a bottle back for your lunch. Anything there is that I can do for you, I will do for you; anything there is that I cannot do, I will learn to do. I know I cannot compete with the Countess in skills or wisdom or appeal, and I saw the way she looked at you. And I saw the way you looked at her. But remember, please, that she is old and has other interests, while I am seventeen and for me there is only you. Dearest Westley--I've never called you that before, have I?--Westley, Westley, Westley, Westley, Westley,--darling Westley, adored Westley, sweet perfect Westley, whisper that I have a chance to win your love.' And with that, she dared the bravest thing she'd ever done; she looked right into his eyes.”
William Goldman, The Princess Bride

“A wager?" I repeated.
"Yes," he said, and gave me a slow smile, bright with challenge. ...
"Stake?" I asked cautiously. He was still smiling, an odd sort of smile, hard to define.
"A kiss." My first reaction was outrage, but then I remembered that I was on my way to Court, and that had to be the kind of thing they did at Court. And if I win I don't have to collect. I hesitated only a moment longer, lured by the thought of open sky, and speed, and winning.
"Done," I said.”
Sherwood Smith, Crown Duel

“I smiled back as he walked away, but all the lovely butterflies in my stomach landed one by one in a cold, dead heap.”
Myra McEntire, Hourglass

“Most girls got flowers. I got a dirt pit used for demon raising. Nice.”
Rachel Hawkins, Demonglass

“Child, child, do you not see? For each of us comes a time when we must be more than what we are.”
Lloyd Alexander, The Black Cauldron

Badr Qamra Hey Jodi,

I am very intrigued by your books and would love to read them. However, since i mainly read books during my travel and daily commute, i prefer to use a kindle, just because its light and more convenient. I really want to read your books but they are not available on kindle. Are there any plans for kindle books in the future?

Thanks

Badr XX

There are Kindle editions, but I'm afraid it's not available in all locations because of rights issues. The book is available internationally as an import -- which is less convenient, I know. (Believe me, it's something that frustrates me every day!)

My American publisher owns the UK rights to the books right now; it's their job to sell them. Unfortunately, I have no control over this process, but you might be able to help! Email or tweet your favorite publishers there and tell them you want to be able to buy the ebook -- that you'd like to see UK editions. (You can do this with any book, not just mine!) It might come to nothing, but readers telling their favorite publishers about books has helped spark interest in books in the past!
