“A kiss about apple pie a la mode with the vanilla creaminess melting in the pie heat. A kiss about chocolate, when you haven't eaten chocolate in a year. A kiss about palm trees speeding by, trailing pink clouds when you drive down the Strip sizzling with champagne. A kiss about spotlights fanning the sky and the swollen sea spilling like tears all over your legs.”

“Wish on everything. Pink cars are good, especially old ones. And stars of course, first stars and shooting stars. Planes will do if they are the first light in the sky and look like stars. Wish in tunnels, holding your breath and lifting your feet off the ground. Birthday candles. Baby teeth.”

“Nothing happened. And everything did. Your whole life you can be told something is wrong and so you believe it. Why should you question it? But then slowly seeds are planted inside of you, one by one, by a touch or a look or a day skateboarding in a park, and they start to burst out of old hulls shells and they start to sprout. And pretty soon there are so many of them. They are named Love and Trust and Kindness and Joy and Desire and Wonder and Spirit and Soulmate. They grow into a garden so dense and thick that it starts to invade your brain where the old things you were once told are dying. ”

“Stories are like genies...They can carry us into and though our sorrows. Sometimes they burn, sometimes they dance, sometimes they weep, sometimes they sing. Like genies, everyone has one. Like genies, sometimes we forget that we do.
Our stories can set us free...When we set them free.”

“Maybe you can afford to wait. Maybe for you there's a tomorrow. Maybe for you there's one thousand tomorrows, or three thousand, or ten, so much time you can bathe in it, roll around it, let it slide like coins through you fingers. So much time you can waste it.
But for some of us there's only today. And the truth is, you never really know.”

Hello, thanks for adding my to your friend list! I really enjoyed your book it was so different and amazing! You truly have an amazing talent for writing. I'm certain that I will read every book that you publish. Keep calm and keep writing! :D
How interesting would it be for you to write some chapters or scenes from Sever in Linden's perspective? THAT'D BE SO COOL. I'D READ THAT IN A SECOND. Pleassseeeeeeeeeeeeessseeeeee Lauren?
Thanks for excepting my friend request :) I can't wait to read Sever I'm super excided to see what's going to happen.

No way! She was describing how the girls were "withering"
I read Fever a bit ago (last month, I think) and I also bought Emilie Autumn's new album. This is where I am going with this. I swear, Emilie's new album, Fight Like a Girl can capture your book. There is a song called "Girls Girls Girls" that totally fits in with parts of Fever.
I had to share this epiphany with you because I love when I find albums or songs that go with the books I read. Seems like Emilie Autumn's songs always do that!
Can't wait for Sever!! x-D

I'm in love with this series:) I finished Fever this morning and I can't wait for Sever. It left me wondering if Rhine will ever see Gabriel and Rowan again. (Is Rhine pronounced like Renee, or what?)Gonna have to buy the whole series to read over and over again.
Sincerely, a very happy reader <3 <3
Hi Laureni know i don't know you and this sounds weird but i love you. You're probably my favorite author. And you're super funny. My friend bought your book Whither, last year, and i saw it and i wanted to read it so bad (awesome looking covers draw me in just that much more) but i actually didn't read it until a few months ago when i was at my friends house and i said "hey chick! let me borrow this book!" and now i'm anxiously waiting for my city's library to notify me saying Fever is ready for me to check out, but its taking so long i'm starting to think the library is run by one old lady who has short term memory loss. =__=

I chose "Wither" as the best dystopian novel of 2011 on my blog! http://libraryladyhylary.blogspot.com...
Thank you for connecting with me. Please check out my blog Paranormal Goddess Book Blog, if you haven't already. I look forward to sharing my love of books with you.
Just wanted you to know that of the hundred or so books I've read in the past year, Wither is one of the few I still think about, often. I CAN NOT WAIT til Fever. Best wishes on your current writing!

PS: Why is Wither called Wither? You only mentioned it like once...
I adored your debut novel Wither and I am lusting for the sequel! When were you expecting it to hit stores?

Ohmygosh! That would be so cool!
