about this author
I love epic adventures and passionate dramas of many varieties, whether they're set in the Dark Ages or outer space. The elements of storytelling that matter most to me are soulful characters and unusual situations. I also love to explore rich settings and fresh perspectives.
I already wrote novels before I decided to try my hand at screenwriting and the world of filmmaking. I moved from rural Tennessee to Hollywood and studied screenwriting at the renowned University of Southern California. During my time in Hollywood, I went so far as to write a script for a production company and work as a writers' assistant on a primetime TV show.
But I quickly grew disenchanted with the Hollywood system, and found myself unwilling to pay the high price for success that some people paid--which was sometimes the cost of their own creative integrity. I decided to move to St Louis and return my focus to writing books. I have found profound satisfaction in sharing my writings with the public and marketing my work for the world to see.
My book, "Eadric the Grasper," launched October 5, 2010 on Amazon. You can read my related webserial of short stories, releasing every other Tuesday until the Tuesday of the book launch at http://talesofmercia.wordpress.com . Stay tuned for news of the sequel!
