About this author

Jaime Lee Moyer lives in a land of cactus, cowboys, and rhinestones, while dreaming of tall trees and the ocean. She writes novels about murder and betrayal, friendship, ghosts and magic, and she feels it's only fair to warn you that all her books are kissing books. Her cats approve of all of this, including the kissing.

She writes a lot. She reads as much as she can.

From Tor books:
DELIA'S SHADOW, 2013.
A BARRICADE IN HELL, 2014
AGAINST A BRIGHTENING SKY, October 6, 2015

If I get stuck while writing a novel or a story, it either means that I've taken a wrong turn earlier, or that the story isn't "ripe" yet.

I've learned over the years to trust my back-brain on this. If I backtrack a bit I usually find what I did wrong. It might be a piece of plot that just doesn't work, an action a character takes that doesn't mesh with her/his personality, or the tone is wrong.

So I'm writing this book, A Parliament Of Queens, and it's edging up toward 20,000 words, and I'm deeply deeply in love with this story and the characters. There's magic and technology both in this world, alchemy is science, and I get to make up so much cool shit. My characters like each other. And in their darkest hours when all seems lost, someone who loves them is there.
