Jaime Lee Moyer lives in a land of cactus, cowboys, and rhinestones, while dreaming of tall trees and the ocean. She writes novels about murder and betrayal, friendship, ghosts and magic, and she feels it's only fair to warn you that all her books are kissing books. Her cats approve of all of this, including the kissing.

She writes a lot. She reads as much as she can.

From Tor books:
DELIA'S SHADOW, 2013.
A BARRICADE IN HELL, 2014
AGAINST A BRIGHTENING SKY, October 6, 2015

What I don't have right now is a publishing contract for any of them.

That doesn't mean I'm never going to write them! If nothing else I'll put them out as ebooks on my own. Just not anytime really soon.

I'm deep into working on new projects, with new characters, that I think my readers will love as much as Delia, Gabe, Dora, Jack and Sadie. I have so many stories to tell! (less)

If I get stuck while writing a novel or a story, it either means that I've taken a wrong turn earlier, or that the story isn't "ripe" yet.

I've learned over the years to trust my back-brain on this. If I backtrack a bit I usually find what I did wrong. It might be a piece of plot that just doesn't work, an action a character takes that doesn't mesh with her/his personality, or the tone is wrong.

Once I find that, I can move on.(less)

"Hamilton", and Eliza, may have been my happiest discovery of 2015. The songs have given me a thousand story images and endless lines to quote. In a year that was a disaster on all levels, I'm clinging to all the positives I can find. I've never been a fan of musicals, but Lin-Manuel Miranda's words and music have made me a big fan of this one.

Friends know what went on last year, but this is th... Read more of this blog post »

This was a light, fast and fun read. Cato continues the story she started in Clockwork Dagger, but tosses in lots of new characters and complications. The closer I got the end the more I need to know what would happen to Octavia.

Sequels are hard, but

I would have finished this sooner, but I lost a week or more to being sick. Hard to read when all you do is sleep the clock away.
