This really appealed to me on a personal level (as a person who also writes about her life), as there's a lot in here about the emotional process she went through while writing Fun Home. In addition, the art is gorgeous, and she's got a way with word...more

Wild by Cheryl Strayed
" Oh, man. This book has it all. Tragedy, drugs, lust, infidelity, nature, humor, adventure, the human freakin' condition! I loved so many things about this beauty/beast of a book, even though it made me cry at least four times! Damn you, Cheryl Str... "

This wasn't a fast, easy read, but it was a beautiful one. She could really paint a scene, a moment, a feeling. You can tell she's a poet.
Suicide Blonde by Darcey Steinke
