About this author

Beth Revis wrote her first books as a student in classrooms, when the professors did not hold her interest and she jotted down stories instead of taking notes.

Beth writes science fiction and fantasy novels for teens. Her debut novel, ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, will be published by Razorbill/Penguin in Spring 2011. Beth is represented by Merrilee Heifetz at Writers House.

Beth also runs a blog on writing (http://bethrevis.blogspot.com) and is a participant of a group blog by debut dystopian authors (http://leaguewriters.blogspot.com).

I made it up as I went--I literally didn't know what else was on the ship until the characters stepped foot there.

I remember that when my publisher wanted to design the blueprints for the ship, they asked me what the outside looked like. I told them I had no idea--none of the characters went outside the ship! I had to scramble to come up with something! (And ended up basing the outside of the ship on the Planet Express ship in Futurama.)(less)

I've seen a little behind the scenes work, and I know these ladies are working to make this project be the best it can possibly be.

They've compiled thirteen amazing YA authors, each... Read more of this blog post »
