Born in Frankfort, Illinois, Shane Gericke has been writing since his high school years. Shane Gericke went to Northern Illinois University, where he first met his present wife Jerrie.

Mr. Gericke has been writing for over three decades as reporter and editor for various newspapers in Illinois. That also includes the Chicago 'Sun Times' where he was deputy editor of the financial pages. Shane Gericke has won a number of awards for his writing, and has also been cited by Who's Who In America for both design and writing. Mr. Gericke chaired the Sun Timnes unit of the Chicago Newspaper Guild.
