about this author
Hey there, I'm Elizabeth. I write young adult novels. I live just outside Washington DC with my husband and dog, and am unable to pass a bookstore without stopping and going inside.
All right, and I can't leave without buying at least one book.
Usually two. (Or more!)
My website and blog are at elizabethwrites.com, and I'm also on myspace and facebook

" The story of my life can be told in silver: in chocolate mills, serving spoons, and services for twelve. The story of my life has nothing to do with me. The story of my life is things. Things that aren’t mine, that won’t ever be mine. It’s all I’ve ever known.
I wish it wasn’t.

"I love the me I am with him. I’m the girl who has Dave. I’m Lauren, Dave’s girlfriend. I’m someone better than Lauren Smith, who no one noticed till Dave came along. The thing is, that girl isn’t me and I know it. But when I’m with him, I feel like I could be her. That if something in me was just–I don’t know, shifted a little or something, smoothed down–people would think of me the way they think of Dave, and everything would always be perfect. I would be perfect."

"However tortured the rationalizations we prefer, the thirst of one human being for another can be so--humbling--but I preferred to think of it as fate. And then mad desire. Anything but a fortress built on the back of a whim...How much easier to say there is no coincidence, and certainly no mistakes, and carry on to our destruction in defense of...how shall I put it? My idea of myself. One will sacrifice anything for that."

Hi =) I'm Meghan from FiveAwesomeYAFans. I just finished Bloom and I really loved it. I can't wait to read more of your books!
Thanks for adding me as a friend on goodreads! I'm reading your novel, "Perfect You" right now and I LOVE IT. Can't wait to read all your other books!
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for commenting and that I'm a big fan of your novel, "Bloom." I thought it was beautifully written and that it addressed some important issues. I cannot wait to read more of your work.
Hi Elizabeth! I'm a youth services librarian in Conyers, Georgia--about 20 minutes from Atlanta & am on the YALSA Book Listserv that you're on. Received the copy of Something, Maybe from you yesterday, thanks so much! It's going straight into our collection this week.
I loved your book perefect you, after reading the excerpt of something, maybe in the back i went out and bought it right away! it was great
hello!i just wanted to say how much i've enjoyed reading your books so far! I finished Perfect You yesterday and am already almost done with Bloom. It was funny because before reading Perfect You I had just finished Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen and there seemed to be so many similarities in the stories as well as the writing.
