Alan David Doane is a radio broadcaster with a quarter-century of on-air experience, as well as the publisher of Comic Book Galaxy, a website of commentary and criticism relating to the artform and industry of comics and graphic novels.

His writing about comics has appeared in The Comics Journal, including a profile of cartoonist Paul Hornschemeier in issue #259, and the essay A Future for Comics in issue #289. His creator interviews have been published in the books Yuggoth Cultures by Alan Moore (published by Avatar Press) and Harvey Pekar Conversations, edited by Michael Rhode (published by University Press of Mississippi). He also provided editorial input and contributed to the introduction of Barry Windsor-Smith's Young GODS and Friends (published by Fantagraphics Books). His single comic book story, "Meeting the Marcys," appeared in Jason Marcy's collection My Day in the Life of Jay. Online, Alan has contributed to Newsarama, Silver Bullet Comic Books, and his own site, Comic Book Galaxy, among others. He was also the expert comics blogger for the website iTaggit.com.
