Karen's novel, Take the Monkeys and Run was a semi-finalist in the 2009 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest (under the original title of Monkeys in My Trees). Her short story, "The Recollections of Rosabelle Raines," appears with nineteen other amazing tales in the mystery/crime anthology, Cheseapeake Crimes: They Had it Comin', available on Amazon.com or directly from the publisher, Wildside Press.

She has several works in progress including a screenplay, a novel featuring her feisty and head-strong character Rosabelle Raines, and a sequel to Take the Monkeys and Run.
