About this author

Here's what the official short version of my bio says:

BEN TRIPP is an artist, writer, and designer who has worked with major entertainment companies and motion picture studios for more than two decades. He is also one of the world's leading conceptualists of public experiences, with a global portfolio of projects ranging from urban masterplanning to theme parks. He lives with his wife in Los Angeles, where he is at work on his second novel.

Description: Just for the sheer thrill of it, I'm posting the first few pages of my third novel right here in public. It's a story of aliens, crop circles, and the most obstinate man in America. It takes place in a sea of ripe corn.

The Lie That Tells a Truth by John Dufresne
The Lie That Tells a Truth is a writer's secret weapon, which might be why you haven't heard of it. It's no good having a brilliant book about writing if everybody knows about it; then the bar gets raised and you've got no advantage.

So when I recomme...more

The Dark is Rising Sequence (#1-5)
by Susan Cooper (Goodreads Author)
read in April, 2011
These books took Susan Cooper more than a decade to finish. There's nothing quite like them. At once tremendously cozy and intimate in the English way, they also deal with an epic battle between the Light and the Dark, which are analogous to good and...more
