About this author

A Savannahnian born and raised, I have never lived more than thirty miles from my birthplace. After graduating from Savannah Christian Prep School in 1977, I immediately went to work. I met my future husband on a blind date and after five years of marriage I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. between work and family, I never really had time to pursue my passion, reading. Recent circumstances caused me to re-evaluate my life. I returned to reading and got a an idea for a story. One day I sat down and started typing. It felt so good to be able to put to paper (so to speak) my imaginings. I've always been a fan of romance, but I never thought that one day I would be a published author with my own romance novel. I have extended my favorite ge ...more

“I really feel that we're not giving children enough credit for distinguishing what's right and what's wrong. I, for one, devoured fairy tales as a little girl. I certainly didn't believe that kissing frogs would lead me to a prince, or that eating a mysterious apple would poison me, or that with the magical "Bibbity-Bobbity-Boo" I would get a beautiful dress and a pumpkin carriage. I also don't believe that looking in a mirror and saying "Candyman, Candyman, Candyman" will make some awful serial killer come after me. I believe that many children recognize Harry Potter for what it is, fantasy literature. I'm sure there will always be some that take it too far, but that's the case with everything. I believe it's much better to engage in dialog with children to explain the difference between fantasy and reality. Then they are better equipped to deal with people who might have taken it too far.”
J.K. Rowling

Stephen King
“There are books full of great writing that don't have very good stories. Read sometimes for the story... don't be like the book-snobs who won't do that. Read sometimes for the words--the language. Don't be like the play-it-safers who won't do that. But when you find a book that has both a good story and good words, treasure that book.”
Stephen King

“The worst thing you can be is a liar. . . . Okay, fine, yes, the worst thing you can be is a Nazi, but then number two is liar. Nazi one, liar two.”

YOU ARE SPECIAL. GOD DON'T MAKE JUNK!
OMG! Don't even get me started on who I thought should win. To tell the truth, Scotty or Lauren was fine with me but I pegged Lauren from her first audition. The thing that took both Roxy and me by complete surprise was when Scotty said that "we are together now and we plan on staying that way", when he was talking about himself and Lauren and then Lauren kissed him on the mouth. The camera cut away really fast but not fast enough. Then she kissed him like five more times on the cheek and he hugged her and said, "Love you babe". I thought, "good for them". The competiton was over and now they can come out about their feelings for each other. Who knows, they could be the next Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. They're both Christians, brought up in Christian homes and are humble and sweet with the support from both parents. I think it's wonderful!
Anyways, I said don't get me started. LOL
Have a great day!

Awww, thanks for saying I "brighten your day". It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. :)
BUT, the next time I hear you downing yourself, you're really going to see the "mommy" side of me. You are beautiful, inside and out and if that boy is stupid enough to not see that then you're better off without him. There is a better one around the corner, just you wait and see.
Sorry to hear about family drama. It's a foreign concept for me. My family has been and probably always will be close-knit. I could never in my wildest imagination believe you are "horrible or rude". But try to remember (and they need to remember) that you only have one family. Jesus tells us that the greatest blessing one can receive is to lay down our lives for another. I'm sure he meant family as well. You'd take a bullet for your sister, wouldn't you? If you'd do that then a silly misunderstanding shouldn't drive a wedge between you. I know, I know, I can't help myself. I have to give "motherly" advice. LOL
Hope you work it all out.
Congrats on the "A's". You really are a smart little cookie. You'll do great in anatomy.
I'll send Roxy and Billy you love and do the same for me, okay?
Gotta go. Someone's coming to look at the house and I have to get the dogs in the backyard. Roxy opened the store today. She's doing great in the praise group and I got to see her perform Saturday. It was amazing!
Talk soon.
Love you!

Lacey Tarred then feathered?! LoL, there's a scene in the John Adam's series that shows that happening, seems to cruel if you ask me. But no worries, I understand you have a lot going on in your life, it's exciting to move into a house you've been dreaming about. I hope you get plenty of rest and have a safe and quick move. and I can't wait to see pics. From what you describe of it sounds close to wonderful...but say hi to Roxy and your husband for me and send my love.

Me? Where do I start? One I just finished spring semester on May 12th and got straight A's. I start summer school June 7th where I will be stuck in one class from 8 in the morning till 2 in the afternoon, It's anatomy...wish me luck on that class. And well then I just threw a baby shower for my sis. A ton of work and still exhausted. But she loved it...but had a huge family drama that came from that...let's just say my family is not on speaking terms right now :/ and of course I'm thrown into the middle and considered horrible and rude...whatever...but I got to feel her baby kick, it was so cool. It's due either end of june to early july. I'll post pics. as soon as I can...and love life? None. I had a really good date with the guy I picked and then I told him I needed to focus on my finals before we could do anything else, guess he couldn't wait because the next thing I know he goes and dates this other girl who is So Amazing and beautiful...way better then me but hey, that's the circle of life aye? But anyways its nice to hear about your life too. Your like a second mommy to me. You always brighten my day :)

Hey Lacey! WOW, I really appreciate you saying so, but actually I suck! I've been neglecting one of my favorite people (you) and I should be flogged then tarred and feathered! Really! I just don't seem to have enough time anymore for anything else but work and home. We are continually packing. I pack up a room every few days. I just finished packing up the dining room and tomorrow night I finish with my closet. We're moving June 7th. I'll be sure to take pics of the house when we get settled and send them to you. Well, enough about me, how are you? How's your "love life"? You know, since we last messaged? How is school. How's your sister's pregnancy coming along? It's ALWAYS great to hear from you. :)

It's great to hear your buisness doing better, maybe once you get this accomplished you could work towards opening a book store?! That'd be awesome...just imagine all the books you could read?!

And about you not having time to write, I'm taking this creative writing class which you know of and I was reading out of our textbook(which is Amazing and I think all authors and writers should read it) and they had this part saying that you should write everynight or day for at least 10 mins. No skipping a day either and it'll help you expand your writing and come up with ideas. Which by the way I started doing and I am now on Day 42!

That's cool. I used to tell Roxy that it's just as easy to fall in love with a rich man as a poor one. Of course you can't control what your heart wants but it does make for less stress if you don't have to worry weather or not you can pay the rent, you know?
I haven't written anymore, but I've been jonzing to continue the story. I can't seem to find quiet time lately though.
Be praying for us, we've got this amazing opportunity to rent a really beautiful house from some friends of ours who recently moved into a house with lots of land and they wanted to sell but with the way the market is, they knew it would be years before they'd be able to so Billy got to talking and he's supposed to get us a hard figure.
The house itself is unbelievable. It'll definitely be hard at first. The rent is probably going to just about kill us but we've got three loans that will be paid off in a few months and it will free up a big chunk of money we can use for the rent. We won't have to do anything. They even have a doggy door already installed. It has a fence, a pool and jacuzzi as well as a screened in back porch. Roxy will be able to have her own suite with a private bath. I'll be able to have an art room again and Billy will have his office and there will still be a room left for guests. Pretty good, huh?
It was really busy at the store today. I think those yard signs are finally working.
Anyway, hope you are doing well and good luck on your exams.
Talk to you later then. :)

Awesome, tell Roxy congradulations for me, that is really great news for her. I can't believe she's getting the chance to record soon.

And thanks, tomorrow's starts my exams. LoL. But next weeks spring break so I'm so happy, just relax and forget about school. I've actually been working on that short story you read the end to and I written to like near the middle? I'm so worried though, the limit is 20 pages and I might go over that, I guess we'll see. I've already taken out some conflict I wanted in the story...

So how's Fairy going? Getting anymore of it written?

Hey, is that where she's going on her honeymoon? I'm jealous too. LOL
Roxy is doing well. She's got a regular gig every Friday night starting tonight. She's very excited and a little nervous. It's to be at a church on Old Dixie Hwy in the fellowship hall but they are calling the event "Friday Night Live at the Old Dixie Cafe". It's to try to bring in young people in the community for some good ole gospel praise and worship singing and fellowshipping. I gave her the day off so she could help the pastor's wife get everything ready.
I'll try to remember to get Billy to bring the camera so we can document this momentous occassion. :)
Good luck on your exams! Have a great weekend! Love you!

You are the best! I wish you could too. Billy picked up the signs today and they are soooo cool! I have spoken and gotten permission from four different businesses to put out the signs in their parking lot. I know each of these business owners personally and they were happy to oblige. Praise the Lord! I am so glad to hear that you don't have pain anymore. He is sooo good, right? You deserve all the great things that are coming your way. Don't worry about the writing thing. You'll do great. If you need me to proof read it for you, just email it to me. I miss you more times infinity! Gotcha!
Don't worry about me, I'll be fine.
Just a lot of congestion.
I know you're terribly busy. Don't feel guilty. Life does have a way of getting in the way. But I also know that we won't lose touch completely.
I'm dying to write but can't seem to find the time lately. Maybe my book will be finished by the end of this year....if I'm lucky. Oh well, what I really need is someone who's really good at creating a fan page on facebook for my business. YOu know, just to get the word out. I need a lot of free publicity. Before I bought it, the previous owner was telling everyone that she was closing the doors so we lost a lot of customers. Some are finding their way back though. Anyway, getting busy. Gotta go.
Love you :)

Lacey Awww, I'm sorry. I hope you feel better, *knock on wood* I've never had the flu. But I did get the flu shot this year, don't know if it really helps. But drink plenty of fluids and get plenty of rest, that's the only way to get better, don't over work yourself!

Well Great minds think alike. I just hadn't talked to you in awhile and to be honest, I've been busier than a bee, as I'm sure you are. But I've missed you more!! We used to get to talk all the time but life has gotten in the way.

As for me, School's going good, it's been keeping me tied down, I have a ton of projects already, and I'm expected to write a short story for creative writing and then have to post it online and then my entire class is going to critique it, talk about scary. *shivers* My health is doing excellent, I'm slowly regaining strenght back in my hand, I haven't had pain for about a month now, *cross your fingers it stays that way* I'm healthy otherwise and finally on the road to recovery.

And tell Roxy hi for me, I miss her too. We haven't talked in so long too, I feel like being a bad friend, but I'm trying my best, I am only one person. But be on the look out for another contest for Angel Star, this might be one you could enter...anyways, Get Better! And if you need anything don't hesitate to contact me!!

Hugs,

Lacey

OMG! You are not going to believe this. I was going to send you a message yesterday, but got busy. You know how it is. Anyway, how are you? I've missed you so much! How is school. How is your health? Roxy is busy going to school and giving relationship advice to her friends. LOL
I have had the flu but am taking medicine and hope to be all better soon.

Hey Praj,
Awww, I will continue to write. After all, it is what I do. LOL
But, I have to find enough time in the day. I'm running a shipping business now and its proved to be very draining. When I get home I am exhausted. I can hardly hold my eyes open now.
But I promise to have a chapter done on Fairy by the end of the week, then I will post it.
Thanks for all your love and support. :)
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Personally, I would try amazon.com or smashwords.com or creatspace.com
The guide is free and they only charge like 30% of your profits.
Iuniverse.com charges 80% of your profits.

Does that clear it up for you?

Oh, as I said before, I've got nothing personal against them, it was my decision to go with them because I wasn't informed enough to go with a free service.
