About this author

Writing thrillers gives Shannon all the danger this accountant needs in her life. A lover of the great outdoors, she can often be found with a backpack or tank strapped to her, traipsing mountains, lakes, deserts or the ocean. What people believe about God and how it drives them to act has always fascinated Shannon and the red heifer prophecy is rife with conflicted interpretation and mystery, a perfect premise for a thriller.

I enjoyed this traditional mystery. Lots of red herrings. Penny changed point of view frequently, often mid-paragraph. Writers are instructed time and again to never, ever do this. I thought it worked. It sure bears some study to see how she got away...more

I've been wanting to read this since I met Sean at an event in Omaha a year ago. Since I lived in the Nebraska Sandhills for 20 years, I was interested to see his take on it. I enjoyed it, thought he got the atmosphere just right.

Unger is a master. I wish I had more time to read everything she's written. She's sort of dark, but can really weave a good one.

I hadn't read any Lipman before and I will definitely be reading more. Not only was the story full of surprises and twists and kept me guessing, I loved her writing. She used one reference by an embittered man who described women and men in relations...more

Beth Hi Shannon,
Thanks for befriending me here as well as in real-life and a very happy new year to you!
- Beth

Shannon I just added The Daily Coyote to my reading list. Sometimes I get a little disdainful of "city folk" who take the romance of living off the land like it's quaint and cute, or a modern day version of Walden Pond. Then again, sometimes I really identify with their experience.

Darlene I finished The Daily Coyote which is wonderful and controversial. Also just finished Hunt for Justice by Lucinda Delaney Schroeder who was a special agent with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. She lives here in Montrose and is coming to my house this week for give a presentation to my book club - fascinating!
