"I'm disappointed to hear this since I really liked Water for Elephants. You are funny when you're wicked.

| I enjoyed this traditional mystery. Lots of red herrings. Penny changed point of view frequently, often mid-paragraph. Writers are instructed time and again to never, ever do this. I thought it worked. It sure bears some study to see how she got away...more | |

| I've been wanting to read this since I met Sean at an event in Omaha a year ago. Since I lived in the Nebraska Sandhills for 20 years, I was interested to see his take on it. I enjoyed it, thought he got the atmosphere just right. | |

| Unger is a master. I wish I had more time to read everything she's written. She's sort of dark, but can really weave a good one. | |

Hi Shannon,Thanks for befriending me here as well as in real-life and a very happy new year to you!
- Beth
I just added The Daily Coyote to my reading list. Sometimes I get a little disdainful of "city folk" who take the romance of living off the land like it's quaint and cute, or a modern day version of Walden Pond. Then again, sometimes I really identify with their experience.
I finished The Daily Coyote which is wonderful and controversial. Also just finished Hunt for Justice by Lucinda Delaney Schroeder who was a special agent with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. She lives here in Montrose and is coming to my house this week for give a presentation to my book club - fascinating!
