The problem with writing historicals is that everyone thinks they know more than you do. I am not a historian, but I check every historical detail before I write it. Then my editor checks it and then the publisher checks it. So when a book goes to print it is as historically accurate as possible. But bear in mind that it is a romance and not an essay.
