Shira E. is a musician, poet, and artist. She grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts where she started recording her own songs in her bedroom in fifth grade. She released her first solo EP "Happy Cus the World Revolves" when she was 18 without a label. Instead, inspired by the jet-setting spirit of Ani DiFranco, she created her own label, Make Records. Only four years later, she would open for Ani DiFranco with poet Buddy Wakefield. She has toured the United States extensively with the nationally acclaimed Spilljoy Ensemble[.] Her chapbook "Advertisement for a Human Being" was nominated for the Pushcart Prize, Best of the Small Presses Series.
