Thanks to all of you who have read SL&S and told your friends about it. Due almost entirely to word-of-mouth advertising, sales continue to rise steadily.

SL&S is now available through Smashwords.com, opening the door to the widest possible e-reader community. I'm also told by a recent buyer that Barnes & Noble is now downloading the correct content, so it is also available there as well. UPDATE: we have temporarily suspended sales on Smashwords.

Amazon Canada and Amazon UK are now listing "Sex, Lies & Spinnakers", although some of the details and the reviews have yet to be filled in.

So to my Canadian and Brit friends that have been nagging me about this, it is finally a fait accompli.

As of today, SL&S is also available online in both paperback and ebook formats at Barnes & Noble's website. HOWEVER, before ordering the ebook edition, please download a sample. They have some how managed to associate the wrong content with my SL&S cover and description. Instead of my book you may get a hard-core "novel" about the sex slave business. Caveat emptor. As before, SL&S continues to be available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle ebook versions. It is anticipated that it will be available through more outlets in the near future.

December 27, 2009

Since readers know from my bio that I have done a lot of sailing, they often ask if "Sex, Lies & Spinnakers" is autobiographical, in other words, am I Mitch?

The answer is no. I'm not Mitch, nor is my wife, Kay, the character Vivian.

All of the characters in SL&S are fictional.

That being said, a couple of incidents that happen in SL&S are loosely based on things that happened to us while we were sailing around the Pacific. One such event was the spinnaker snafu, another was the shark encounter (sans shark).

Aside from those exceptions, the story is completely fictional.

My descriptions of the various locations in which the story takes place are all based on first-hand observations; i.e. they are real places and are described as how I saw them at the time.
