I practiced law as an appellate public defender in NYC for several years. A former competitive ballroom dancer and a longtime balletomane, I write a dance blog, Swan Lake Samba Girl, that's fairly popular in the dance community and has been mentioned in Vanity Fair.com, Wall Street Journal, CNN.com and the NYTimes Arts Beat Blog. My first novel, Swallow, won the gold medal for women's fiction in the 2010 Living Now Book Awards, a gold medal in regional fiction in the 2010 IPPYs, and was a finalist in the ForeWord Book of the Year Awards and the National Indie Excellence Awards. I'm still living in New York and working on my second novel.
