Marc A. Medley is a principal responsible for more than 500 students in a K-5 elementary school in the school district of Paterson,New Jersey. Prior to entering the field of education, he spent 15 years with AT&T in its consumer marketing organization and in many instances served as a facilitator for corporate classes.
Mr. Medley served as an adjunct professor at the Madison campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he taught Communications courses and currently serves in that capacity at Passaic County Community College where he teaches Public Speaking and Business Writing. Mr. Medley is the host of THE READING CIRCLE, a talk radio program designed to discuss books, authors, and other reading related topics. The show can be heard on Saturday mornings from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on WP88.7 FM and around the world through the webcast on www.gobrave.org.
Marc attended the William Paterson College in Wayne, N.J. where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and holds a Master in Corporate and Organizational Communications Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Master in Educational Leadership(M.Ed)from William Paterson University. He is published as a contributing author to the book PAPER-THIN/SOUL-DEEP: A COLLECTION OF PERSONAL LETTERS AND JOURNAL ENTRIES OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN MEN.
A native of Paterson, N.J., he is a member of St. Luke Baptist church and is currently a member of its Deacon Ministry. He served for many years as the church school superintendent with responsibility for more than 200 students and staff and is also a former member of its music ministry. Marc served as the New Jersey State Vice-President for his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha and served in the New Jersey Air National Guard for nine years as a jet engine mechanic for the 108th Air Refueling wing.
He is listed in the 9th Edition of Who's Who Among America's Teachers, Marquis Who's Who in America 54th Edition 2000, Marquis Who's Who in the East, Marquis Who's Who Among Emerging Leaders, and Marquis Who's Who American High School Students 1980. He has received numerous awards including the Alpha Man of the Year Award, New Jersey Air National Guard Outstanding Soldier of the Year Award, State of NJ Department of Education 2003 Governor's Teacher Recognition Teacher of the Year Award, 2004 Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Z-HOPE Community Service Award and Paterson City Council Citations for his work with the youth of Paterson. He is the recipient of the first Younity Reviewer Guild Disilgold Soul Magazine Award for "Most Popular" Literary Radio Show Host of the Year and "Best" Literary Radio Show of 2004, and the 2007 James A Dykes Sr. Education Award presented by the Rotary Club of Paterson Club #70, District #7490
Mr. Medley is the recent recipient of the William Paterson University 2009 Maltese Award for Best Speech Based Program on WP88.7 FM, The Reading Circle with Marc Medley.
