So I write. I try to write my next (my second) novel.
It's fun! Writing is Fun!
Writing_Is_Fun, in fact, is my Twitter handle.
But wait.
The experts. The book experts. The publishing experts. The Social Media experts.
They tell me, "Michael, don't write another book. Not yet. You need a platform first. Novels don't move without a platform."
Oh. I didn't know that.

So I go back, write in my blog.
But wait!
The experts. The Social Media Experts. They tell me, "Everyone has a blog. Be different. You're on Twitter? Be on Facebook."
No thanks.

I must admit that part of me ponders the implication of being called a little genius (does it mean I'm smart but not that smart, or does it mean the person who wrote it is physically huge and therefore considers me a tiny guy–albeit a smart tiny guy? Hmmm…)

Like visiting infrequently-seen relatives. While there, you're not sure you're having a good time. But all of a sudden, when it's over, you begin missing them and their quirky, imperfect, but still well meaning, bent.
