Dan Smith is the author of Dark Horizons. His first eighteen years were spent following his parents across the world to Africa, Indonesia and Brazil. His debut novel, DRY SEASON (Orion Publishing 2010) was shortlisted for the Authors' Club 'Best first Novel 2011' award. His third novel, THE CHILD THIEF (Orion Publishing)is published in spring 2012. He lives in Newcastle with his wife and two young children.
