Laura Purdie Salas is the author of more than 100 books for kids and teens, including BOOKSPEAK! POEMS ABOUT BOOKS (Clarion, 2011) and STAMPEDE! POEMS ABOUT THE WILD SIDE OF SCHOOL (Clarion, 2009). POEMS ABOUT FALL. She loves to introduce kids to poetry and help them find poems they can relate to, no matter what their age, mood, and personality. She has also written many nonfiction books.

Besides reading and writing, Laura loves racquetball, karaoke (at home), word games, and Rock Band.


Recently, Susan Taylor Brown pointed out that BookSpeak was sold out on Amazon. Susan was excited because it must be selling decently. I hadn’t thought of that and appreciated her spin on it:>)


Then Iordered a case of BookSpeak from Bookcase of Wayzata, a terrific local indie bookshop, to have on hand for promotional giveaways. They ordered it from Houghton Mifflin, who said it was backordere...
