<about><![CDATA[Dwayne Kavanagh, as a child, found comfort in the dark corners of his imagination. In 2005, he sat down in a small home-office, let the stories transfer from those lightless caverns to the bright screen of his laptop computer, and has been scribbling every day since. His first book was published in August 2009.
Dwayne creates worlds, where you see more than you read. His descriptive detail leaves some room for the reader to use their imagination but enough to set the landscape and take you on a terror-filled ride. His dialogue is real and relevant to the time period he writes about.
Dwayne Kavanagh was born in Toronto and raised in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Out of high school, he worked as a Private Investigator and experienced the true pit falls of human tragedy. After working in a job where negativity floods the shores of the soul, he chose to change his career path and work in the world of fun and entertainment: Consumer Electronics. He also started his own company; EYE On Games, where he invented educational board games that are used in schools across Canada and the United States. But after 15 years, the dull itch for writing overcame him and the dream of becoming a writer was an intoxication that strangled him into submission. In 2008 Dwayne took writing courses at Mohawk College in Hamilton, ON, to perfect the craft and to learn about the Writers Market. He has never been more motivated to swim in the cold, dark waters where writers swam before him and begin a career as a writer. He wrote every morning and sometimes all night in order to finish his first draft of ‘A Child's Wound'. Submitted to fellow writers in his workshop for review and critique, and after months of revisiting the world of his new character; Tim Hadler, he completed the final draft of his manuscript in April of 2009. His Fiancée Nicky stood by as a beacon of support, while he typed away into the late hours of night.
Dwayne Kavanagh lives with his Fiancée, Nicky and her sports fanatic son Lucas, and with unconditional love for his beautiful daughters Megan and Emily, in southern Ontario.
