Christ-follower, history lover, wife, mom, author. Felt called to write since age 7 and have been writing ever since. My first love is 18th-century fiction, especially colonial history. I feel blessed beyond measure to write books. I hope you are doubly blessed reading them!

It’s hard to believe that we’re saying HAPPY NEW YEAR & MOONBOW in the same breath. After 7 summer/fall releases, having a book come out in winter is kind of cozy. Today I’m sitting by the fire at the cabin & all is quiet after a very merry release party in Berea, Kentucky for A MOONBOW Night this past weekend at Robie Books.

I couldn’t have done it without my wonderful realtor &...

A Moonbow Night by Laura Frantz
"It's been said that a picture is worth a 1,000 words. In the case of Ms. Frantz, her words paint a fantasy so real the reader IS there- not just seeing a picture, but being a part of it. Pulled back into the early settlers lives of Kentucke, the w..." Read more of this review »

Me, Myself, and Bob by Phil Vischer
“I am very serious when I say this, beware of your dreams, for dreams make dangerous friends. We all have them—longings for a better life, a healthy child, a happy marriage, rewarding work. But dreams are, I have come to believe, misplaced longings. False lovers. Why? Because God is enough. Just God. And he isn’t “enough” because he can make our dreams come true—no, you’ve got him confused with Santa or Merlin or Oprah. The God who created the universe is enough for us—even without our dreams.”

“I've been thinking of something your father said - that the true measure of love is what one is willing to give up for it. He was talking about freedom - fighting for liberty. But I believe 'tis the same for love as war.”
Laura Frantz, The Colonel's Lady

“His tender tone turned her heart over. She obliged, tilting her head back slightly and looking up at him in the firelit darkness. When he bent his head and his mouth met hers, she gave a little sigh, her lips parting slightly in surprise and expectation. He kissed her with the same sure decisiveness with which he did everything else, his mouth trailing to her cheek and chin and ear, returning again and again to her mouth and lingering there, his breath mingling with her own.

She felt adrift in small, sharp bursts of pleasure. Was this how a man was suppose to kiss a woman? Tenderly... firmly... repeatedly? His fingers fanned through her hair till the pins gave way and wayward locks spilled like black ribbon to the small of her back. In answer, her arms circled his neck, bringing him nearer, every kiss sweeter and surer than the one before. Soon they were lost in a haze of sighs and murmurs and caresses.”
Laura Frantz, The Colonel's Lady

“She could no longer remember what Ambrose looked like, or smelled like, or was like. All she knew was Cassius Clayton McLinn. All she wanted began and ended with him.”
Laura Frantz, The Colonel's Lady
