About this author

In the woods or a creek bed looking for fossils is where you can usually find Tamara York, if you are lucky and can keep up. York grew up exploring the woods near her grandparent's home outside of Connersville, Indiana. Her passion for the outdoors and "goofing off" in the outdoors brought her to Purdue University where she graduated with a B.S. in Wildlife Management.

She and her husband have climbed Mt. Katahdin in Baxter State Park, Maine and enjoy hiking with their daughters in state parks, wildlife areas, and forests in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

York is a trained and seasoned naturalist with over 17 years of field experience and worked with Indiana and Ohio Departments of Natural Resources before becoming a full-time freelance copyw
