About this author

Laryn Kragt Bakker was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He has a degree in graphic design and computer science from Dordt College and is currently living in the Washington, D.C. area with his wife and daughter. His debut novel, Clutching Dust and Stars, was published in 2009 and named "Best First Novel" by Hearts and Minds Books. In addition to writing and art, he is a graphic designer and web developer for non-profit organizations.


In the introductory pages to each of the book's two sections I included a list of quotes that had struck me in one way or another as relevant as I was researching and developing the two primary characters in the book.
