<about><![CDATA[Beginning at the young age of 13, at his fathers prompting, Paul began analyzing and learning about public markets, stocks, debt, warrants, commodities, energy, art, coins, land, real estate and all other forms of investment. Paul assisted his father by editing and publishing “New Horizons for Investors”, a subscription newsletter read by over 10,000 investors in North America.

Paul’s father would write the text, Paul would help with typesetting and editing the publication. Paul’s father always said that if a 13 year old can read and understand what I am writing, then anyone can.

Paul purchased his first stock at the age of 13, IBM and continued to conduct fundamental research on stocks throughout high school. During his junior year at Texas A&M University, a raging oil boom surrounding College Station Texas prompted Paul to break into the oil and gas business, once again under the tutelage of his father.

Paul drilled his first oil well in 1979 and bought his first piece of real estate at the age of 21. Paul consulted and worked as an emergency responder for the US EPA and was charged with management of all special waste disposal and management issues over a 5 state region.

After leaving the EPA, Mr. Thomas started Farpoint Private Equity Advisors and Managers. A registered investment advisor, Mr. Thomas currently runs money in many private equity funds in diverse sectors. Since inception in 2001, Farpoint has produced steady returns well above 20% annually in its investment programs.
