I am an author, multimedia journalist, public speaker, writing workshop owner and assistant professor at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and the author of three nonfiction books: I Closed My Eyes (Hazelden, 1999), Writing to Save your Life (Hazelden, 2001) and Everyman News: The Changing American Front Page (University of Missouri, 2008). I have an essay in the collection, This I Believe on Fatherhood (Wiley, 2011). I recently completed a fourth upcoming nonfiction memoir. Websites:
