It cannot be emphasized enough that all miracles are a function of ignorance in that the amazed has to be unaware of the details explaining each occurrence, and that they decrease in occurrences as knowledge increases. There is a fact-based rational explanation for everything and your ignorance of the underlying details does not mean they do not exist, just that you are merely in the position to honestly say, “I don’t know how or why it happened, or how it was done.” To call something a miracle because of your ignorance is pathetic. I am very surprised anyone came up with such a standard, much less for it to be so widely accepted.

So the concept of miracles is designed to capitalize on the reality that there are uninformed people in the world. It is usually used by the cunning who want to either hide their own ignorance and/or control others. Put simply, they attempt to achieve these misguided goals by attempting to preserve the false beliefs others hold rather than enlighten their darkness.

There is no doubt that a native in the remote area of an African country or the Amazon jungle, far removed from civilization, who saw a helicopter landing for the first time would most likely welcome the crew and passengers as gods who flew through the skies. They could easily record these events in their historical writings as such, and people would later incorrectly read their depictions as ones describing “miracles.”

In a similar fashion, he would consider riding in a speed boat or motorized dinghy, or floating with a hover-craft, as walking on water, and someone successfully performing CPR or mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on a drowned individual would be looked upon as the miracle of “raising someone from the dead.” Think of the impact of feeding many people with a sack of K-rations or a few cups of rice, which expands while cooking. A simple thing such as firing a gun to kill a charging predator would easily be considered as “a lightning bolt from the hand with a loud bang.” And so on...

All of these commonplace occurrences become miracles solely because of the paucity of the knowledge of their observers. The corollary to this is any action or occurrence, no matter how intricate or complex, is not considered a miracle unless the classifier does not know its explanation.

How many times have the movie been played out in life where the coward, scared because of his near-death experience and believing that God had something to do with the whole episode, decided to mend his immoral ways and turn over a new leaf? His gratitude for still being alive and his cunning convinces him to write a book about how God had a plan for him and saved him. In reality God had nothing to do with it at all and the surgeon who performed the lifesaving cure considered the challenge a routine one with a very high rate of success. There was no miracle involved - He had done thousands of them with great success.

You are infected with ignorance. If your parents are the source of your contagion, please seek help from elsewhere. They are truly guilty of mental abuse, but then again ignorance can pass from one generation to the next. Yeah, that may be it - It is not your fault, and the others should take it easy on you.
