Productivity for Librarians by Samantha Hines
" I skimmed through the book, stopping to read in depth on the areas where I felt it would be most useful. The author has done a good job of pulling together a variety of productivity resources and philosophies, and this would be a good overview for... " Read more of this review »

An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
" I keep delivering long lectures about this book in my head -- I'm not sure who I'm supposed to be lecturing, only that I feel most urgently that there are Things That Must Be Said! This suggests to me that my review was inadequate, and I'd better... " Read more of this review »

We're reading the Magic Treehouse with Leif. It's perfect for him. At three/four, he's ready for stories with more plot/story, but still wants pictures. These chapters are short, and have a good arc to them, and there are pictures throughout the book...more

Just read this, quickly. I'm not sure there's much new for reflective types, but I like the section about weekly, quarterly, etc reviews. It's a nice framework to fit into GTD. I also liked the emphasis on circles and relationships.

Aldous Huxley
“It’s dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Yes, feel lightly even though you’re feeling deeply. Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them. So throw away your baggage and go forward. There are quicksands all about you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair. That’s why you must walk so lightly. Lightly my darling...”
Aldous Huxley, Island

Stephen Chbosky
“It's just that I don't want to be somebody's crush. If somebody likes me, I want them to like the real me, not what they think I am. And I don't want them to carry it around inside. I want them to show me, so I can feel it too.”
Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Stephen Chbosky
“Enjoy it. Because it's happening.”

F. Scott Fitzgerald
“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”
F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

F. Scott Fitzgerald
“In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I've been turning over in my mind ever since.
"Whenever you feel like criticizing any one," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had.”
F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
