About this author

Karen Kincy (Redmond, Washington) lives among countless trees, some of which—her pet kumquats and oranges—have lovingly invaded her apartment. Unlike her characters, she has never been on the run from the law or bitten by a werewolf, though she has been known to howl at the moon. Karen has BA in Linguistics and Literature from The Evergreen State College, and is studying toward a Master’s in Computational Linguistics.

Good news, everyone! (That has to be in Professor Farnsworth’s voice.) If you’re a book blogger or reviewer, head on over to NetGalley and snag an early copy of Foxfire. (And write glowing, glowing reviews for Foxfirewhile you’re at it. Of course.)

More good news, everyone! Julie Kagawa, the author of The Iron Fey series and The Immortal Rules, blurbed Foxfire!

“He looks sexy in a black army jacket - brass buttons and braids - over a white shirt.
I have to admit, he's got style. I can only hope it's not gay style.”
Karen Kincy, Other

“I prefer not to be called 'cute' or 'little,' thank you very much." He grins again. "I should get a T-shirt that says that.”
Karen Kincy, Other

“I always find grocery stores surreal. Fluorescent lights buzzing overhead, wide aisles tempting me to run, vivid ads tugging my gaze this way and that. It seems so far removed from actually eating. Sometimes I have a strange impulse to climb shelves or rip open packaging and taste everything. But I mustn't succumb to pooka mischief.”

J. S. Bailey Hello, Karen! Thank you for accepting my friend request! I was wondering if you could send out a few book recommendations for my soon-to-be-released novel "The Land Beyond the Portal." (As you well know; Goodreads does not allow us authors to recommend our own books, which really stinks, in my opinion.)

Thanks,
~J. S. Bailey

P.S. Who are some of your favorite authors? The Land Beyond the Portal

Kelly Karen,
Thanks for adding me, it was very kind of you. And I am not usually a consumer of YA fiction, but your novel is one that I would make an exception to since I grew up in a family that believed in phookas and faeries. Makes it easier to imagine scenarios in writing, but harder in a social circle that have their ankles buried in cemented reality.

Hey! Long time, no see. Are you still around Evergreen? I'm graduating next year with an emphasis in linguistics/literature. My debut novel, OTHER, comes out the month afterward, too. How about you?
