About this author

Nicole D. Peeler is off on another adventure! This time, she’s moving to Pittsburgh to teach in Seton Hill’s MFA in Popular Fiction. Yes, folks, she’ll be mentoring up and coming urban fantasists as they try to break into the publishing world. Or, as she likes to call it, “infecting them with her madness.” In the meantime, she’s still writing Urban Fantasy for Orbit Books and taking pleasure in what means most to her: family, friends, food, and travel.

You can find her on her own site, http://nicolepeeler.com, blogging at the League of Reluctant Adults, on facebook as Nicole Peeler, and on twitter as NicolePeeler. She’s getting very high tech, people, and it’s all for you. That said, she’d love to hear any suggestions or requests. Go ahead a...more

So yesterday I bought a house.

And I only hyperventilated a teensy bit.

I thought I was being ridiculous until at least 30 people representing EVERY SINGLE major stage of my life (childhood, summer school, college, Spain, grad school, Louisiana) got in touch to inform me that my buying a house symbolized to them the fact we have gotten OLD.

None of which made the urge to hyperventilate get any be...

“But the next noise to echo through the hall was one I was pretty sure I recognized. It was the unmistakable sound of the shit hitting the fan.”
Nicole Peeler, Tempest Rising

“She liked a very particular kind of plot: the sort where the pirate kidnaps some virgin damsel, rapes her into loving him, and then dispatches lots of seamen while she polishes his cutlass. Or where the Highland clan leader kidnaps some virginal English Rose, rapes her into loving him, and then kills entire armies Sassenachs while she stuffs his haggis. Or where the Native American warrior kidnaps a virginal white settler, rapes her into loving him, and then kills a bunch of colonists while she whets his tomahawk. I hated to get Freudian on Linda, but her reading patterns suggested some interesting insight into why she is such a bitch.”
Nicole Peeler, Tempest Rising

“Come hell or high water, I will separate you from your man-business. I don't care how, or if you kill me. If it means me, dead, holding your junk, I'll take your junk. Got that?”
Nicole Peeler, Tempest's Legacy

Krys Hello Nicole. Thanks for taking my friend request. I read an ARC of Tempest Rising a few weeks ago and adored it. Utterly adored it. I work in a book store in Lansing, MI and I have been trying my hardest to handsell a ton of it for you. I wish you all the success in the world with the series. It's a great idea and I cannot wait to read the rest of it.
