Tara L. Masih is editor of the Rose Metal Press Field Guide to Writing Flash Fiction (awarded a bronze medal in ForeWord's Book of the Year Awards), The Chalk Circle: Intercultural Prizewinning Essays (winner of a Skipping Stones Honor Award; a New England Book Festival award; and a ForeWord Book of the Year and a Benjamin Franklin Indie Award finalist as of March 2013), and author of Where the Dog Star Never Glows, a National Best Books Award finalist in the short story category.

For good or bad, I have no qualms about contacting writers. I contacted both Margaret Forster and Ali Smith after reading books of theirs, and got responses from each. What did I have to lose? :)
