Caryn Dahlstrand Rivadeneira is a writer, speaker and founding member and managing partner of Redbud Writers Guild, a group of professional women writers who encourage and empower other women to create and transform culture.

Caryn has written two books—Grumble Hallelujah: Learning to Love Your Life Even When It Lets You Down (Tyndale House, 2011) and Mama’s Got a Fake I.D.: How to Reveal the Real You Behind All That Mom (WaterBrook Press, 2009)—and has contributed to several more, including Tending the Soul: 90 Days of Spiritual Nourishment (Moody Publishers, 2011). Caryn also wrote the devotions for the forthcoming, Busy Family Devotional Bible (Zondervan).

The former editor of Christianity Today International’s (CTI) Marriage Partnership, Christian Parenting Today, and Gifted for Leadership, Caryn continues her role with CTI as a Regular Contributor to Kyria, Gifted for Leadership, and the Her.Meneutics blog. Her articles also appear in a forthcoming women’s Bible she co-edited for CTI. Along with appearing in the publications she edited, Caryn’s work has been published in Christianity Today, Today’s Christian Woman, FulFill, MomSense, Neue, and FamilyLife.

Caryn leads workshops and speaks at conferences and churches across the country. Along with appearances on dozens of regional radio programs, Caryn has been a featured on national radio programs such as Moody Radio’s Midday Connection with Anita Lustrea and Melinda Schmidt and Chris Fabry Live! with Chris Fabry.

Caryn earned a B.A. in English from Calvin College (1994) and attended the University of Chicago’s publishing program. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Timothy Christian Schools, where she chairs the Marketing and Recruitment Committee. She is a two-time past President of the Timothy Christian High School Alumni Board.

She lives in the western suburbs of Chicago with her husband, Rafael, her three kids (Henrik [9], Greta [7], and Fredrik [4]), a rescued pit bull terrier, three hermit crabs and two tanks of goldfish. Caryn and her family are members of Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church in Elmhurst, Illinois, where she serves on the Worship Planning Team.
