Megan Kaminski spent most of her childhood in Virginia. She has since lived in Los Angeles, Paris, Casablanca, New York and Portland, Oregon. Megan's first book of poetry, Desiring Map, is forthcoming from Coconut Books (2012). She is also the author of six chapbooks: collection (Dusie, 2011), carry catastrophe (Grey Book Press, 2010), Across Soft Ruins (Scantily Clad Press, 2009), Favored Daughter (Dancing Girl Press, forthcoming), Gemology (LRL Textile Series, forthcoming) and The Prairie Opens Wide (La Ginestra, forthcoming). Her poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and has been published in CutBank, Denver Quarterly, Phoebe, Third Coast and other fine journals. She teaches creative writing and literature at the University of Kansas, where she directs the Creative Writing Exchange Program and the Undergraduate Reading Series.
