My good news is that after my Week of Ultrasound Hell (well, OK, there were only two ultrasounds, but they were stressful nonetheless), I am now ultrasound-free and feeling pretty peppy. If you call hobbling around complaining and muttering under my breath about being old “peppy.” I figure that’s as good as it’s going to get, so I’m going with peppy.
My steampunk book is almost done (in fact, I think I have another day’s worth of writing to finish it up), and we’re less than a month away from Cro

Slave that I am to all of you, today I toddled out into the interwebs to search for a dishy guy worthy of your consideration.

What I found was Gavin. Now, the first thing I thought of when I saw Gavin was dragon.

I don’t know what it is about him, but in my mind, he’s the perfect personification of a dragon. Then I looked closer at him…

…and I realized that what I was seeing was not just any dragon, no sir. Give him black hair and eyes, and you have a dead ringer for the dread wyvern Baltic.

I can’t believe how long it takes me to make those little buggers, but at last it’s off, and with it is information about the steampunk book (including the title!).
One thing I didn’t put in the newsletter, but will in the official Crouching Vamp release newsletter, is information about a virtual booksigning. I have been trying to figure out the best way, logistically speaking, to do this, and I think I’m going to hold it in conjunction with a chat. What I’ll do is have people log into the chat r

I started writing today, but realized that I really needed a day off from that to tend to some other things. So here I am, without a field trip for all of you. I know, I know, what a slacker! Instead, I thought I would do the old “answer a few questions sent in by readers” thingie to offer up some sort of entertainment.
Question #1: “Have you ever thought of writing a book based on fae mythology?”
I have included some fae stuff in my books, usually as secondary characters. For some reason, I prefe

Before we get to the Hump Day Question, I thought I would share a little good news that I didn’t post yesterday.
Since I’ve been bemoaning the pelvic exams of last week and this week, I thought I would pass along the results: my girl parts are perfectly fine. Evidently everything is where it should be, and nothing untoward is down there being…well, untoward…which basically means I have drama queen girl parts. I can live with that.
Thanks for all the support, ladies. I much appreciate it in this r

Tom joins the stable…er…collection of dishy guys to grace our Mondays.

Those of you who prefer an older guy might appreciate Tom.

I know I certainly do!

Those blue eyes…whimper!

So here it is Friday again. Can I have a huzzah? Thank you. I feel the same. I wanted to thank everyone who shared their pelvic exam stories in yesterday’s post–nothing says bonding like a discussion of your private parts, say I!
I received an interesting e-mail the other day. I get a fair amount of reader mail (as my ghastly and appallingly tardy reader mail queue, now at March 2008, will attest), but this one was from a woman who complimented me on my Twitter posts. I was a bit taken aback by t

My apologies for missing yesterday’s Hump Day Question. Those of you who watch my Twitter stream (that sounds so wrong, for some unknown reason) will know that I was busy being violated yesterday, aka, having a pelvic exam.
Now, I am a big proponent of women’s health. I fully believe all women should trot out and have their assorted bits and pieces tested, although I truly think if men had to have their testicles squashed flat each year, they’d come up with a kinder, gentler form of mammogram, bu

I’m feeling a bit grumpy this morning, so grumpy I refuse to dig out a morsel of good news. Instead, I am going to rely on all of you to provide me with news of the excellent sort. Or even news of the “not terribly good, but not bad either, just kind of so-so” sort.
Have at it!

Today we have Brehan!

I’m not usually one for blond guys, but I’d make an exception for Brehan!

I think it’s something about his chin. Yeah, that’s it…it’s his chin. *cough*
