I have a couple of bits of good news–the first is that my editor got through reading Steamed and she said she really loved it. Whew. I was worried because steampunk is something new for me, although as I’ve mentioned, I’m quite pleased with how the book turned out.

To celebrate that, I registered at Steamcon, a Pacific Northwest steampunk convention. It looks like it should be fun, even if it is held four months before Steamed comes out. Ah well, it will give me a chance to break in a steampunk c

Today, we celebrate June 1st with Edgar.

Now, Edgar seems to me to have a little Robert Downey, Jr. thing going on.

Which I’m in no way complaining about, especially when you get a closer look at his eyes.

No, that was not me squealing over the manly stubble. Would I do that? For stubble? Ha! I scoff!

*whimper* CHEST!

FTF

I just realized I never posted a hump day question. And I don’t even have a good excuse! I just plain old forgot, and what with trying to crank on this book so I can see if Ben and Fran want to talk to me, I didn’t realize it had slipped by.

Today’s Field Trip is to a car review that my buddy Dana posted on her Facebook page. “Hnuh?” I hear you say. “Car review?” Yes, it’s a car review…a car review FROM HELL! I don’t actually car much about cars, and I don’t care whether this review is particular

Do you ever feel like there’s just not enough time in the day to do everything you want to do? I do, frequently. I don’t understand people–usually younger folk–who wander around saying they’re bored. I need another twenty hours each day just to have the time to do everything I want to do!

There are just so many things, and I’m not talking about work to be done–the kitchen will always need cleaning; clothes will always need washing and drying. I’m talking about the things that enrich your life, be

Those of you who tolerate my reposts of a certain picture–or hang around my forum–know of the fondness many of us have for an Italian model named Luca.

He’s been on DGM before, but I thought, in view of the squeals of delight we all emit while viewing his portfolios on Facebook, that I’d bring him back for a repeat showing.

Judging by his e-mails when I inquired about the photographer of the picture I love so much, he’s very friendly and doesn’t seem to mind our collective  ogling…er…appreciation.

I managed, by dint of yelling at the dogs and saying rude things under my breath about Mr. Katie’s habit of interrupting me while I’m trying to work, to get my daily wad o’ writin’ done today, but it was not an easy task.

For one thing, I kept being sidetracked by the fact that I have the memory of maple syrup. I can’t remember stuff that happened in Playing With Fire, for instance, that I needed to know for the current book. Mind you, I’ve written five books since then, but still. You’d think I’

This just came in, and my editor Laura says I can share it, although the cover isn’t quite finalized yet. But you can at least get an idea of how gorgeous it will be in the finished version!

The artist who did this cover is absolutely brilliant, isn’t she? I am so pleased with the cover, I’m grinning like crazy.

Eric Luper, who is on a list I run for YA novelists, sent a very funny link to an Amazon product. Now, this is a real product–it’s a t-shirt with a couple of wolves and a full moon. But someone, somewhere, decided to rally a bunch of people, and poke fun at the sometimes over-the-top reviews that people can post on Amazon.

Since the comments are so hysterical, I thought I’d run it as a Field Trip today, rather than Friday. We’ll have Hump Day Questions on Friday, just to keep everyone on their to

And here we are at Tuesday again. Funny how that pops up with regularity, huh? My good news for the week is that during the past week, I’ve written over a third of the dragon book, and because my brain is trying to drive me insane, started writing an outline for an adult Ben and Fran book.

Clearly, my muse is working with my brain to do me in. Little do they know I’m just going to let them force me to, in effect, write two books in the time I have scheduled to write one (but not simultaneously–th

My apologies for the lateness of today’s DGM. I have been a writing fiend, and haven’t done much but write and plot and silly things like that.

But since reader Lori (happy birthday!) and others pointed out I am tardy, I will post Martin for everyone’s perusal.

Now, I don’t have any serious man-flesh pictures of him, but I’m trusting everyone to use their imaginations.

Say, imagining him in something a bit more skimpy than the outfit above.

Or dwelling lovingly on thoughts of manly stubble…
