You guys know that I'm all about empowering women, especially when it comes to women accepting themselves for who they are, not who society says is socially attractive/interesting/latest trend of the hour.

That said, I can appreciate tongue-in-cheek as well as the next person, and I can't help but giggle at a video that's been making the rounds–OK, it made them a while ago, and I'm just slow to see it–that features a whole lot of euphemisms, AKA "mowing the lawn." So even though this advert impli

For those of you who are wondering where the interview with my editor Laura is, she's busily answering all those many questions you guys sent her. She hopes to have them done in the next few days.

I just posted this on Twitter, but I'll repeat it here for folks who don't Twit (hee hee hee): by popular request, I'm going to have an online voice chat via Ventrilo on Wednesday, August 19th at 6pm Pacific Time for the drawing of the Me and My Shadow ARCs. You are welcome to attend. Details on the eve

Have sinus headache. Generally cranky. Think it's time for a nap. Go forth and have Good News Tuesday while I do so.

So I was browsing through a batch of dishy guys, and I saw this picture:

…and I immediately sat up much straighter. There was also some drool involved, but that's unseemly to mention.

Yes, I'm still on kind of a scruffy kick. I don't know why. I don't care why. I am just going to sit back and enjoy it.

I return from a few days away from the blog with a lulu of a field trip. This site allows you to revisit the sheer hell of high school…I mean, the wonderful times and friendships you had during your teen years.

And the sheer hell of the yearbook picture. Yearbookyourself.com lets you upload a picture of yourself and plop your face into fabulous yearbook photos going back to 1950. Since my own yearbook photos are beyond repulsive (seriously, why did my mother allow me to walk out of the house with

Does anyone else think we need a theme song for Tuesday?

So, let's see, good news for the day (bulleted for your protection):

Er…I've tackled many items on my evil to-do list that I posted on Saturday. It's not completely done, but a lot of the tasks have been accomplished (yay!).I am also going to be posting the official Me and My Shadow ARC contest today, once I see how many ARCs I will have for that.I finished the copy edits for Steamed, and still am madly in love with the hero, Jack (always a

DGM

Refresh my memory…have we had Beto here before?

He looks familiar, but I can't tell if it's just from staring at his pictures for so long, or if he's made an appearance here on DGM before.

Mind you, I think I'd remember those striped swimming trunks…

Not to mention that smolder. Mmrowr, anyone?

Bonus picture for those of you who love men in jeans!

My work is done.

I figure if I bare my to-do list to the world's eyes, it might shame me into actually DOING the stuff on it. So here is what I would like to accomplish today:

Plot that damned steampunk novella. The muse is NOT cooperating with me on that, and I have had it with her prima donna ways. She WILL plot or she will never see chocolate again! Yes. I am very mean, something my muse has evidently forgotten.Come up with a title and bare bones outline for a paranormal shapeshifter novella I have due in Octo

Today's field trip is to a site recommended by one of the lovely ladies on my forum. Since the ladies there know I'm currently going through a huge and sometimes unfocused crafting kick, sites worthy of crafty attention are frequently mentioned.

The Anticraft site was one of them, and intrigued by the warning that many of the projects were Not Safe For Work (you have been warned!), I toddled over and immediately started printing out instructions for projects.

The current issue has a spiffy little

I'm such a slacker when I'm not working on a book. Here I am, a day and a half after turning in Love in the Time of Dragons, and not only does my muse refuse to cooperate and plot the steampunk novella that is due in September, but she also refuses to cooperate with regards to the animal shelter novella that's due in October.

Since I've had some questions asking what it is I do when I'm between deadlines, I thought I'd give you all yet another insight into the Real Life of a Working Writer. Brace
