Thank you all for the lovely good wishes for Michelle and her family. I'll be sure to pass them along.

My smidgen of good news is that I'm making headway through the more than sixty books that are chat prizes. It'll help clear out my bookshelves, that's for sure!

The long, hard summer

I just spoke with my darling agent Michelle. As some of you know, she was due to have her baby this week. Unfortunately, her beautiful son was stillborn. Michelle and her family are doing well despite the tragedy, and when I told her that many of you were sending her warm fuzzies, and remembering her in prayers, she was very touched.

Michelle is more than just an agent to me–she's a very dear friend, and my heart just breaks for her and her family. So even though this is their sorrow, I am gratef

Humpy Day

I've been busy working on a new book video for the upcoming Me and My Shadow release, and while doing that, had the pleasure of browsing through my favorite music site for appropriate music. I found it–and oh, man, do I love it–but in the mean time, I've been trying to keep an ear out for something I could use for Steamed, since that will be the next book that needs a video.

It's hard to find steampunk music, let me tell you. Or something that evokes the feeling that I want to give with the book.

Oh! It's Tuesday, isn't it? I was so wrapped up in avoiding writing by shopping for things I don't need (OK, the crockpot will come in handy during the colder weather, when I want to do soups and things), I completely forgot my blog responsibilities.

Field Trip Friday

Today's Field Trip is a melancholy one. With National Threatened Species Day approaching in Australia (September 7th), I thought it was a good time to remember those species of animals that mankind has wiped out.

The dodo, the passenger pigeon, the sea mink, and the Queen of Sheba's gazelle…the list of animals that are now extinct is huge, but one that struck a chord with me was the thylacine.
