updated Aug 28, 2011 05:02am
Description:
Jackson Murphy has it all, but he can’t seem to hang onto it. His wife, Jenny threatens divorce. Ray, his business partner, threatens insanity. Add to that a vindictive, but oh so sexy mistress and a con-artist cousin, and his plate is nearly full.
Jack didn’t get rich by lying down and taking his lumps. He eliminates his problems--first Jenny, then Ray--by carefully plotting their demise. Then Michael Thorne, a new contractor in Pickleton, hops onto Jack’s list of trouble and his good luck train derails.
Now he’s harassed by a whale of a homicide detective and the mob. His life takes a leap into utter chaos when he accidentally sleeps with his mistress’s mother.
In everyone’s life there comes a point where it’s do or die. Jackson Murphy can either go to prison, die or find his happy ending. He’s not fond of jail, dying isn’t appealing but happily ever after has proven elusive at best.

Description:
Kristina Riley finds the courage to divorce her abusive husband, Daniel, and determined to make a better life for her infant daughter, she accepts a job at Dirty, a bar owned by Wade Bowen, a much older, married man.
Wade offers more love and security than she’s ever known with Daniel, but his connection to a mob-type organization called the Brotherhood, and his unfaithful wife’s determination to destroy him, weighs heavily on Kristina’s mind.
Wade leaves a box at her home; its contents reveal that he has much more than an association to the Brotherhood. Her problems escalate after a brutal assault from Daniel, when she discovers someone has taken the box.
Now the police have it.

Description:
Albertsville, Ontario: Population 397, and falling.
Ryan Cassidy inherits a windfall from his estranged grandparents, with a caveat: to claim it he must live in Albertsville for one year—and survive.
Fear and deceit bind the locals in psychological chains. Ryan struggles to unravel their mysteries, but each clue forges new links to the bonds making the townsfolk hopeless prisoners.
Murder is nothing new to Carroll Albert, the town’s reeve, and if Ryan gets too close to Albertsville’s secrets, he’ll meet the same fate as the Cassidy’s before him.
After Ryan discovers that Carroll tormented his mother, and ordered his grandparents’ murder, he promises to avenge them. The proof he needs is buried with the bones of a family murdered long ago by the town’s founding fathers, but only Carroll knows where to find them.

“I’m 100% certain of the quality of story I’m writing until I finish the outline and actually begin to write. At this point, I’m 100% certain the story sucks and I will never show it to another living soul. Until I type “THE END.” At this point, I’m 50% certain it sucks, 50% certain it’s brilliant, and 100% certain if I don’t show it to someone I will spontaneously combust.”

Thanks for accepting my friend request! I'm hoping to connect with readers as well as writers and learn along the way!
Dustin wrote: "Good morning, Renee! How have you been?
I noticed that you're currently reading Just After Sunset..."
Actually I just finished Just After Sunset. I haven't gotten around to posting a review. My schedule that I was so proud of recently has been ripped to shreds. I really liked it. Some stories weren't to my taste, but most were. I think they were all classic King though, which I love.
Renee wrote: "Dustin wrote: "Hi, Renee! Thank you for adding me!!"Thanks for the request, Dustin. :)"
You are certainly welcome, Renee.
Have a great day!

Thanks for the request, I look forward to more from you as well. As for my posts, I do try to make them interesting, if not always the most thought provoking.
Hi Renee, firstly let me thank you for accepting me as a friend. It appears that we do have similar tastes. I look forward to chatting with you some more and for your recommendations and posts. Regards

Thanks for asking. I hope to get new stuff up in my writing soon, edit what is there and such. But it's all new to you, right.
I'm going to try to read more often again, so I'll be posting soon. I have strange taste, I'll warn you now. But horror is a favorite.
hi Renee, thanks for approving my invitation the other day. Cant wait to read previews from your works, and also book recommendations and reviews :D
Hi Rene, I am glad to hear your enjoy dark humor. It's very particular, and not too many people like it, or they may take the joke too seriously and be offended or something. thanks for the add!
And nice meeting you too. Thanks for the friend invite. I noticed on your profile that you like dark humor, which I love. You'll find a lot of humor in the Fiction group, though not really dark. More sarcastic and silly.
Yes, it is but I still have some kids here, other than mine. One mom didn't get the holiday because she's on shift. We're going camping next weekend (sat. night) and we won't be back until Wednesday sometime. I am looking forward to just chilling out, doing some editing and some writing. And maybe just a little drinking. You know, by the campfire, a good bottle of wine or a nice cold beer. Yes I need a break.
I haven't had a chance to read very much. Hopefully when the kids go home tonight, then I'll message you tomorrow with my thoughts. Is that okay?
Hi Renee!I hope you're having a great long weekend?!
I am on page 39 of. 'The Future of Man: Extinction or Glory?' and will continue reading for a bit this morning...please let me know where you're at with it and post a comment, if you have one yet?
:)
I'm fabulous now that I've gotten rid of my nasty headache. He went to work. Ba-dum-bum!Nah, the kids aren't too bad, the rain is off and on today so they've been to the park and now they're messing up my basement.
lol...who's peeing on the floor now?!? Childcare providers...you need our support! How are you today?
:)
I'm freaking hysterical. I know. People wet their pants all the time when i'm around. It's okay, go ahead. I won't tell anyone.
You are too funny, Renee...good thing I'm not hip enough to be sitting on my computer at a coffee shop...You are cracking me up here!lol
L. wrote: "It is a pleasure to meet you, Renee!"The same to you. I noticed some interesting books on your shelf. I'll have to check them out.
Hi Ilyn, I will certainly check those groups out. Thanks to you too. Your book sounds very interesting. If I don't win it I'll have to pick up a copy.
Hello Renee,How are you? Thank you for accepting my friend-request. I wish you all the best. Good fortune on your books.
Please visit these groups when you have a chance: Happy & Brainy Group, To the Glory of Man, Reason Reigns, and Goodreads Tea Party. Have a marvelous week. Warmest regards.
Thanks David, I'll look them up this weekend. It snowed for the first part of this week. I don't know what we did to piss off the heavens like this but I know we won't do it again. It's sunny and warm now, so let's hope that's the last of it. Once the last bit of snow melts I don't want to see anymore.
I've got lots of reading to do, but I'm going to check out Shan's books. You should read The Crown Conspiracty by Michael Sullivan. I've just started it today and I love it. If you liked Lord of the Rings and such you'll enjoy it.
Try Darren Shan's books. I've some from the series I've just read on my library. A little short but there's 12 books to read and it is a good tale. How's Canada. UK's a little hit and miss with weather but it's starting to brighten upDavid
