Avast, me mateys, but what a hair-raising adventure M.L. Tyndall pens in The Restitution. Plenty of action, romance and history combine to make this a yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum dilly of a read! If you've read the first 2 in this trilogy, you'll sta...more |

Avast, me mateys! What a wild ride this one be! Slap on an eye patch, grab a parrot, and set sail for a grand adventure with Captain Merrick and Charlisse. Book 2 is every bit as enjoyable as book 1. What attracts me the most to this series? Besides t...more |

| This is more of a 4.5 than a 4, but there's no half-star for me to check off. Detective stories aren’t usually my favorite genre, but doggone if private eye Ray Quinn hasn’t grown on me—so much that I hope there will be a third book in this series. I...more | |

“For books are not absolutely dead things, but do contain a potency of life in them to be as active as that soul was whose progeny they are; nay, they do preserve as in a vial the purest efficacy and extraction of that living intellect that bred them.”

Greetings! I feel like deja vu since I had just started to get ready for our interview. It's good to see you here. Did you read all the Mary Stewart books? I didn't think I was going to start plugging in everything I read, but every once in a while, I recall someone I loved and then have to sort through them. Am I about the only other person who has an actual copy of hte Areopagitica on her living room book shelf? We had to study it in college.Lisa
Actually, this is my first Georgette Heyer book to read. I've heard it's the best. The writing style is archaic, but I'm enjoying her characters...especially the hero. He's a sassy fella.
I have so many favorites! My constant favorite is Jane Austen. I haven't read any Georgette Heyer books, and i've been wanting to! which of hers would you recommend?
Wow, thanks so much, Jane! That's great. I really appreciate it!Jane wrote: "I didn't realize I could post reviews to Alibris which I receive newsletter from. So I found your book on it and posted you another review. God Bless."

I am now reading a mystery inspired book by Dana Mentink. She is a good author. Trouble up Finny Nose is the title of it. Think of me on Feb. 6th as I have to go have a 3 hour allergy test as I had an allergic reaction 2 weeks ago at church to food I ate.
