Before I write one word, before I create a single character, and before I even THINK plot...I think of you. You are the most important element of my craft. For, without you, I am just an unheard voice screaming in the desert.
Grassroots is a word that seems to be used way too much nowadays, and for all the wrong reasons. However, since I do not have the blessed advantages of a main house behind me...YET!...I rely on the goodwill of the "grassroots" level of this business. I have few followers, but they are mine. I treasure each. Each have helped me through doubts, wells of depression, and my own personal demons. Even when I get a negative review, I praise it. As a writer, it is my sacred duty to evoke a response from my readers -- whatever that response may be. So, in a "grassroots" effort, I have tried to maintain a level of communication as if between old friends. I sincerely hope and pray that this phase of my career never changes. I welcome all emails and letters.
So...to the point.
You...the reader...are my family. I just simply wanted each of you to know that YOU ARE VALUED...YOU ARE RESPECTED...and, more importantly...
YOU ARE GREATLY THANKED :-).

Cursed to live as a woman! Ka-Ron of Teal, Errant-Knight to the Kingdom of Idoshia, is the bravest warrior under the crown. His exploits are legendary. His sword is feared by all in battle. His love is greatly sought after by women. He is a legend.
Then, one day he wakes up and finds that all is changed. Cursed to live out his life as a beautiful woman, he and his faithful squire, Jatel, set out to find the Wicca Master who cursed him.
As a woman, Ka-Ron enters a battlefield more treacherous than war. Love in any form carries with it great risk. What is a man to do, when he must live as a woman?

I am quite proud to announce that "Suspense Magazine" has printed a "New Author Feature" centering upon me, my books, and some of my rather bizzare encounters with the supernatural in their May issue. It's a great article and even a greater magazine.
Suspense Magazine is quite new, having started in 2007. When you read the work within, you can honestly feel the dedication and love put there by her staff. The magazine reminds me, greatly of those titles we used to love as children, "Analog," "Monsters of filmland," "Starlog," and "Alfred Hitchcock Mysteries." As I have stated before, I am quite honored to be featured in her tomes.
If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the May issue, please go to this link:

I look forward to hearing from you! Take care :-)

This review is from: The Misadventures of Ka-Ron the Knight (Kindle Edition)
Errant-Knight to the Kingdom Of Idoshia, Ka-Ron is as feared as he is loved, and his legendary legacy is quite well-earned; however, none of what he's accomplished can prepare him for what will soon prove to be the greatest battle of his life: being forced to live as a woman. Determined to undo the treacherous curse, Ka-Ron sets out with his loyal squire, Jatel, to find the Wiccan Master responsible for his plight, but along the way he learns invaluable life lessons that he may never have been open to had his fate not been dramatically changed...is it possible that the formidable Ka-Ron may ultimately become even more powerful as a member of the "fairer sex"...?
An engaging tale of fantastical adventure, The Misadventures Of Ka-Ron The Knight is a thoroughly entertaining read. Through vivid characters, lush settings - and, of course, his trademark wit - author Donald Allen Kirch has crafted yet another compelling thriller guaranteed to captivate the reader's attention from beginning to end. Despite the broad range of topics that Kirch tends to take on - in this case highlighting the perils of diminished testosterone - he always manages to take a simultaneously probing, yet fun-filled approach to exploring the full depths of the issue. In so doing, he successfully sparks the imagination while inspiring deeper thought, a task not easy to achieve, and, thus, a quite impressive feat to watch.
Proving that no one can escape the thorniest of challenges - no matter how strong or smart they may be - The Misadventures Of Ka-Ron The Knight is an enlightening reminder to count your blessings because - no matter how bad your problems may seem - you should rest in the reassurance that they could always be much, much worse...

What causes a haunting? There are numerous theories posited to answer this question. What makes a very bad haunting? Misery. There’s a whole lot of misery in Manchester House and it’s crying out for blood.
This was a very atmospheric book. Sinister is not a word that gets used often nowadays, but for the titular house in this book, it’s very appropriate. Let’s just say, I wouldn’t want to spend five minutes in that house, much less all night.
Mr. Kirch’s approach to the haunted house was quite engaging. I liked that he used the setting of a haunted house to go a little deeper into the genre of horror. He threw in some elements that elevate this story into a thrill ride full of suspenseful moments. As a reader, I felt the assault of this house on practically all my senses. Boy, was I grateful that I wasn’t the poor sap who had unwittingly moved into this voraciously hungry and extremely evil house.
As much as I love a good scare, I often dread continuing the read, afraid of some horrible thing happening. The great thing about this story is it’s scary and disturbing but it’s also a fun book to read. Mr. Kirch has a way of describing some pretty nasty stuff, but it stays readable. He keeps the suspense building where you can’t not keep reading.
The heroes of this story are a paranormal investigation team called SOURCE. The team is composed of dedicated, rational scientist, Professor Holzer, Miranda, a young, ambitious forensic pathologist, complete skeptic, inept with women, and extremely competent cameraman Sinclair, gifted psychic, Theresa, and two mystical adventurers who steal the show from the moment they enter the scene. Think Van Helsing and Igor; that’s the closest approximation you can get to Ingrid Night and his manservant, Lars. While you’re at it, throw in a little of Robert E. Howard’s Solomon Kane to describe Mr. Ingrid Night and you will start to get a picture of this larger-than-life character.
Without a doubt, Mr. Night completely stole this story. He is that kind of character, deeply devout and spiritual but, at the same time, foul-mouthed. I spent my time wondering what he would do next. There was no end to his bag of tricks. He and the snarky Sinclair had me laughing more than a few times. I grew to care about what was going to happen to this group of investigators, holding my breath that they would make it out of that hellish house alive.
Vivid and evocative, Mr. Kirch’s narrative made the sense of evil of Manchester House very palpable. I felt like I was right there, awaiting the malevolent house, and its protector, the Shape’s, next move. But it wasn’t the typical sort of haunted house with rundown interiors full of creaky wooden floors and stairs, ancient and dusty drapes, cobwebs, and antiques. No, this house has a modern update with plastic sheets and duct tape hanging all over…and a constant drip that no can seem to find the source to. It’s very important to pay attention to these descriptions as they tie very heavily into the nature of the entity behind the darkness lurking in this house.
And then there’s the Shape, a girl who could give Samara from The Ring a run for her money. Let me tell you, I share the Japanese fear of ghostly females with unkempt hair in their eyes. If you do, too, then this book is sure to unnerve you as it did me. I was also disturbed by the fact that at the root of this unearthly evil lies the past cruelty and dirty deeds of humans. History is full of such dark deeds, doubtless why the most ancient of places are usually the most haunted places. And Manchester House has been standing for more than a century, destroying many lives in the process.
I thoroughly enjoyed Manchester House. It was the kind of story that I wish I could find more of. A good, old-fashioned battle between good and evil with characters you can root for to save the day. I loved all the arcane lore tidbits thrown in and used as part of Mr. Night’s arsenal; it gave this story a wonderful occult detective vibe that I found appealing. Mr. Kirch is a solid writer who has a way with words and a gift for description that really brings this story to life. For the fun and disarming read that I had the pleasure of experiencing with Manchester House, I’d give it 4.5 out of 5.0 stars. I do hope we get to read more adventures with the SOURCE team and the unforgettable Mr. Ingrid Night.

I have just added to my profile a new "book video" for my adult fantasy novel "The Misadventures of Ka-Ron the Knight." For those of you who are not familiar with the story, here's a brief pitch...
RECOMMENDED FOR MATURE READERS.

Today I wanted to give a plug to a novel I read recently. The "Misadventures of Ka-Ron the Knight" is by Donald Allen Kirch, and it tells the story of a knight who gets turned into a woman by a witch. The basic premise will surely interest people here, but it's certainly not the only thing that makes this novel a compelling read.
Donald Allen Kirch is someone who knows how to tell a story. Ka-Ron is filled with swashbuckling adventures featuring, witches, elves, dwarves, vampires, flying vessels, and dragons, among other things. I'm not a big reader of fantasy novels, but this novel kept me turning the pages until the very end. The author knows how to create memorable, nuanced characters while keeping the story moving from one rollicking adventure to the next.
This is a novel filled with humor. Bawdy sex. Pregnancy. Birth. Death. Love. Hate. Ka-Ron learns to deal with her new body. The new feelings that accompany her new body. And the aspects of the spell that alter her behavior. She still longs to be a knight, but she now has other longings as well.
There are strong "TG" aspects to this novel throughout, but that's not why I'm plugging it here. The TG twist drew me into the story, but Donald Allen Kirch's ability to create memorable scenes, characters, and compelling storylines are what seduced me.
Editor, TG Comics.
