Kelly Milner Halls has written an accessible non-fiction text which delicately balances speculation, research, anecdote, and cultural reference. ALIEN INVESTIGATION has plenty of "what-if" factor that will invite younger readers to consider though...

Interesting and engaging non-fiction. This book examines evidence (scientific and anecdotal) ove rthe years and compiles it into this one slick volume. A glossary and a healthy "Learn More About It" section. Made me want to add plaster of paris to...

I have paged through this beautifully illustrated and facinating NF children's title at least once a day since it arrived. I read tidbits here and there as that's the way I read NF, which I think is how many kids do as well. Eventually I've read a...

| An absolutely lovely, moving nonfiction photo essay for younger readers, on my "best" list for young reluctant readers. A wise purchase for any library -- public, school or home. Loved this one. | |

Thanks, Daniel. When I wrote those science fair books, my goal was to make a few of them inexpensive and "doable" without adult assistance, because I used to work with so many kids who had no family willing to help. Those kids are traditionally shut out of science competitions and that's so sad. I expressly wanted to level the playing field a little. They might not WIN with those experiments, but at least they won't be left out, for lack of money or help. So I hope you enjoy them. Kelly
