Katherine Emmons has been writing since she was a child. She began writing her own fantasy after reading everything available in her middle school library about three times, including titles from C.S. Lewis, Lloyd Alexander, J. R. R. Tolkien, and E. Nesbit. Her fantasy reading and writing was accompanied by much classroom daydreaming. Dreaming about castles inspired her to go live in Europe at age 16, where she attended a German high school and indeed visited many castles.

Back in the USA, Katherine finally learned how to be a good high school student (sit up front and pay attention!), and eventually earned a PhD in Education. Along with writing and other creative activities, she devotes many hours to her own students, who know her as Dr. Ka...more
