About this author

Denise Doyen (Author, Once Upon a Twice, Random House, 2009) studied writing and art at Stanford (BA), then filmmaking at AFI where she earned a Masters in Directing. She directed children’s television for Disney including the beloved series “Welcome to Pooh Corner”. She quit showbiz to raise her sons. Through those Mom-years the ‘creative bug’ kept bugging her (yes, Halloween costumes got way too elaborate.) So, when her boys reached ages when they pretend not to have a mother — “Drop me off a block away!” — she knew it was time. Denise enrolled in UCLA Extension, “Writing for Children". Her first book, Once Upon a Twice, debuted in August.2009
